For this project, we were tasked with creating a brand extension for an existing retailer. What my partner and I chose to do for this project was to tape in to the brand minimal, utilitarian brand Want Les Essentiels to develop new products to add to their existing product line up. In doing so, we developed category specific research for the brand and build a presentation around it. For the project we developed a new category out of sustainable felt and introduced a new wallet style and a new sunglasses case style to the product mix. The latter part of the project refined out product development skills by having us physically make the product, which I handled myself. After crafting a pattern for a laptop sleeve, I cut the fabric and leather detailing and sewed the piece together for the final mock up.
